Tree trimming...

The local power company sent a crew out today to trim our trees. The January ice storm did a number on our trees but some of the limbs were too close to the power lines. Even the pine tree I planted as a "seedling" 30 years ago had to be cut down. Kind of sad but necessary. Here are a few pictures of the crew in action. Starting the job.

We had a very good weekend...

Mammaw and Poppy had a very good weekend. Aly and Noah spent Friday night with us, we went to Pizza Hut for supper and the Dollar Tree afterwards to do some "expensive" shopping. Don't tell their Mom but we got the BB gun out Saturday and got our limit on cola cans. Noah went home with his Mommy on Saturday night but Aly got to spend the night with us and go to church with us on Sunday morning. It was all over on Sunday afternoon when Aly met her Mommy at Micky D's to go home. Thanks for the fun weekend kids we love you. New Storage Barn...

We got a new storage barn last week. It's the kind that they come to your house and build on site. It took longer for me to paint it than it did for him to build it. Here are some pictures .Before primer or paint.

Mammaw is 99 years old...

My Grandmother had her 99th birthday today. We got to her room late tonight and she was ready for bed so she might not care for this picture. We love her very much and wish her a very happy birthday. Mammaw, me and Darlene.

Vacation summer 2009...

Last week we went on vacation and had a lot of fun. Our son Jeff sings in a Southern Gospel group called the Greenes and we went to see them in Bartlett, TN Sunday night. Then on Monday we went to Gatlinburg to meet some friends and have supper together. Tuesday and Wednesday we stayed in Johnson City with our son, Jeff and his wife Melissa. For the rest of the week we stayed in Marion, NC and enjoyed the Greenes Homecoming Tuesday night thru Sunday morning. Southern Gospel music each night with a variety of groups each meeting.
